The Ancient Chinese Soldier! This impressive Limoges box represents a standing Terracotta Soldier, one of the thousands of soldiers from the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. Inside is painting of a Chang Horse.
The terracotta army sculptures are an unforgettable sight to see. They were made as a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210-209 BCD. Each soldier has a unique look and pose. The purpose of this terracotta army was to protect the Chinese emperor in his afterlife.
Crafted of fine French porcelain, the terracotta soldier Limoges box is hand-painted in Limoges, France. Hand-fitted metalwork and an ornate clasp complete the Limoges box. Fully marked at the base with the insignia of the artist.
